Beanstalk Solar Hosting completes solar installation and goes “green”

DENVER, Colo. – June 1, 2009 – Beanstalk Solar Hosting, the new trade name for web hosting services provided by Unleaded Software for five years, has completed the installation of its innovative solar system and has become the only “green” web hosting company in the Western United States.

The new Beanstalk solar array, which went live today, is a 3.7 kilowatt solar electric photovoltaic (PV) system installed by Adobe Solar of Denver, one of the most innovative manufacturers of solar panels for electric generation in the country. This grid-tied solar PV system was mounted on the roof just above the Beanstalk Solar Hosting servers and is made up of (20) 185 Watt Mitsubishi Solar Panels and (1) Frontius Solar Inverter. Taking advantage of Colorado’s 300+ days of sunshine, this solar PV system is expected to produce an average of 410 Kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity per month.

Since the system is connected to the Xcel Energy electric grid, excess electric power generated by Beanstalk Solar Hosting will be sold back to the grid, in effect “greening” the entire region. Also, the grid connection insures that Beanstalk Solar Hosting will never experience a power shortage in the event of extended inclement weather because power can be drawn to meet any needs.

Beanstalk Solar Hosting was formally announced as its own entity on May 1, taking over and expanding the web server expertise and technology built since 2004 by Unleaded Software, Denver’s premier boutique website design and development firm. Beanstalk Solar Hosting currently offers two levels of hosting services:  Deluxe, for basic websites with normal traffic patterns, available for $25 per month; and, Premium, for $35 a month, design to accommodate online e-commerce merchants requiring a secure certificate to facilitate credit-card processing.
